Code of Conduct
We invite our staff, volunteers, and families to work together to build a loving community where we enjoy each other for the ways we have been uniquely created.
When conflict arises between children, families, staff, or volunteers, we will encourage that conflict to be addressed between the relevant parties. Additional staff support will be provided to facilitate reconciliation when needed.
These are the ways we work together to embody healthy interactions in our community:
Choose your Words Carefully - Use uplifting, kind, loving & encouraging words. Profanity, vulgar words, discriminatory jokes or comments, teasing and rude words and behavior will not be tolerated.
Be Inclusive - Everyone loves to feel included. Please be inclusive of everyone at the farm and avoid any cliques or unwelcoming behavior. Not everyone has the same level of abilities, so please keep that in mind when including others. Be encouraging with words and actions.
No Hurts - Physical violence will not be tolerated. There will be no threats of physical violence, both verbal or gesture. No rough housing or wrestling. This also includes emotional hurts - do not insult or tease others.
Be Considerate - Everyone has different physical and emotional abilities and needs. Please be understanding of that and gentle in how you interact with others at the farm. You have no idea what that person may be experiencing, so we need to be considerate in our words and actions towards others.
Be Respectful - Please be respectful of all people and animals. If you are in a group, you are expected to follow the directions of that group leader and the staff.
Respect Property - Please be respectful of the boundaries at the farm. This is a space that is generously given to families to use. It comes with various boundaries that are in place for safety and setup for different activities. Please be respectful of the property, the animals, landscaping and play equipment. Do not go into areas that are off limits or closed for that activity. If something is broken, please notify a staff member.
Respect Farm Animals - Never go into animal pens, pastures, or enclosures without prior permission of staff members and a staff member present. This is for everyone’s safety. Do not feed, chase or throw things at any of the animals.
Disclaimer: If these feel unattainable for your family or children in your current season of life, please let us know so that we can try to find ways to work with your family one-on-one.
