Statement of Belief
Bien Aimé Farm is a faith-based gathering place seeking to support families who God has called to expand their families through adoption. Although Bien Aimé Farm is not associated with one particular Christian denomination, the Founders, Board of Directors and staff of Bien Aimé Farm believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, He is our Savior, our Redeemer, and Lord of all. It is our highest honor to serve children and families of all backgrounds with the same loving grace that has so freely been given to us. As a result of these foundational beliefs, all of our programs are informed and structured accordingly.
-
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, both Old and New Testaments, through the writings of human authors. The Bible is fully trustworthy and the basis for everything we believe. It contains the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises. It is our greatest desire to serve our Lord by the demonstration of our faith through action. Faith in our community is expressed through “living example” to those we work and engage with. [2 Timothy 3:15-17; Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21].
-
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for himself and to make all things new for His own glory. [Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22 Psalm 90:2 Matthew 28:19 2 Corinthians 13:14].
-
We believe men and women are together made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God as a result of “sin.” Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life [Genesis 1:27 Isaiah 53:6 Romans 3:23 Isaiah 59:1-2 Psalm 139:13-16 Colossians 2:13-15].
-
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, is present with the church today and will return again someday to earth to reign as King [Luke 1:26-38 John 3:16 1 Peter 3:18-20 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 2 Timothy 4:1].
-
We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and no one else. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human effort. We believe salvation only comes through a personal relationship with him [Matthew 1:22, 23 Isaiah 9:6 John 1:1-5, 14:6 Hebrews 4:14-15 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Romans 1:3-4 Acts 1:9-11 Ephesians 2:8-9 Colossians 2:9-10 1 Timothy 6:14-15].
-
We believe the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of its guilt, regenerates sinners, empowers believers with boldness, and in him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. The Holy Spirit also indwells, illuminates, guides, and equips believers for Christ-like living and service [Acts 1:8 Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23].
-
We believe that God's justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed. With God’s Word, the Spirit’s power, and fervent prayer in Christ’s name, we are to combat the spiritual forces of evil. In obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people, always bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed [Matthew 22:37 Matthew 28:16-20 Romans 3:23-25 Ephesians 2:4-9 Ephesians 6:12-20].
-
We believe marriage is the sacred union between one man and one woman, as defined by Scripture. Marriage is used throughout the Bible as a reflection of Christ’s relationship to the Church itself [Ephesians 5:32]. Just as adoption points us to a deeper understanding of all believers being adopted into God’s family through Christ, biblical marriage and families point us to a deeper understanding of the Church as the bride of Christ. As such, we seek to support and equip biblical families.
-
We believe in the power of prayer and the divine power that Jesus can heal and restore any and all brokenness. While such healing may come through a divine miracle we also believe that God uses his body of believers, and the gifts he has given people, to help others. Thus we affirm that seeking wise counsel through the use of medical professionals, therapists, counselors, and specialist are a way in which God brings about healing, understanding, and redemption [Matthew 21:22 1 John 5:14 Philippians 4:6-7 James 5:16 Ephesians 4:1-16].
-
We believe in the unity that comes through the family of God and the gathering of Christian believers. It is this core value that drives the very existence of this ministry to serve and support one another, in the context of the Christian faith, in the raising of our families. We believe we were created to be in relationship with our Father in heaven and with others as we seek to honor and glorify the one who adopted us into His family [Ephesians 1:3-14 4:1-16 Proverbs 22:6 Romans 12:4-21 Hebrews 10:23-25].
